Prep School Maths – Maths revision and help for children and young teens

Prep School Maths – simple, quick clips to build skills and enhance confidence

Finding short, concise clips to help pupils understand the concepts that are covered in classrooms. Ideal for those who just need a little bit more reinforcement, and those who like to repeat their lessons so that they can thoroughly understanding new skills and concepts. These are all important building blocks for Maths as pupils move forward with their studies, allowing for confident and competent application when it comes to problem solving.

My focus is the UK prep school maths curriculum, catering for pupils aged 8 to 13. But these skills are relevant to young mathematicians everywhere.

I suggest you start with the basics, ensuring that elemental aspects of numbers are understood.

The links below will lead to areas of Maths for pupils to explore and will grow over time.

What is place value?

What are negative numbers?

How do we find products of prime factors?

And then move onto the calculation aspects of this subject.

The clips, and this page, will be regularly updated. But if you have a specific request, do feel free to ask in the comment, or email me directly.

I also offer face to face online lessons for a reasonable fee.

An open hardback maths exercise book filled with neatly written long multiplication and division in blue ink, resting on a pale beech classroom table. A set of colourful plastic base-ten blocks and counters is arranged beside the book, clearly showing place value columns. Behind, a blurred, wall-mounted number line and tidy storage trays in muted primary colours suggest an organised prep school classroom. Soft, diffused daylight from overhead windows illuminates the pages without harsh shadows, creating a clean and focused mood. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle with balanced composition, emphasising clarity, order and a supportive learning environment for pupils in Years 3–8.
